Emily Allred earned has a Music Education Composite degree (Choir, Band, and Orchestra) from the University of Utah. With a passion for teaching, she has worked in elementary, junior high, and high school settings within the Alpine, Provo, and Jordan School Districts. In addition to her classroom experience, Emily has taught private voice, piano, and flute lessons in her home studio and at the Crescent School of Music.
Her students range from young children to adults.
Passionate about fostering healthy and expressive singing, Emily continually refines her teaching methods. She is a student of vocal kinesthetics and recently completed her Level 1 Certification in Brain-Based Vocal Training through The Singing Athlete. Her lessons are both invigorating and fun, as she helps each student uncover and develop their own unique voice.
While music is a central part of Emily’s life, her greatest joy and most cherished role is being a wife and mother. She feels incredibly blessed to raise six wonderful children—Benjamin, Hyrum, Jessica, Lydia, Kaylee, and Austin—who inspire her every day.
Our family has been a part of Emily's studio for two years and the benefits of studying with Emily are endless. She offers skilled, professional instruction, boosts performance confidence and facilitates opportunities to perform all while placing a healthy focus on correct vocal technique during fun and engaging lessons. Emily supports her students’ musical taste by allowing them to sing music they like. We've consistently witnessed increases in vocal ability in Emily's students from recital to recital. They each sing with beautiful tone and phrasing, and they display their musical competence - always knowing their songs and singing comfortably. We are incredibly grateful for Emily and we love to recommend her studio to anyone interested in building their musical awareness and vocal potential.!
Voice lessons with Emily have been an amazing experience!
She’s helped me become a stronger, more confident singer by showing me practical exercises that actually work—especially for hitting those tricky high notes. I really appreciate how fun and encouraging she is, and how she brings so much variety to our lessons. Whether we’re exploring a new genre or trying out different vocal techniques, Emily always keeps things engaging and tailored to my goals. I’ve learned so much and truly enjoy every session!"
Voice Teacher Extraordinaire
My daughters have been taking voice lessons from Emily for the past two years, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From the beginning, Emily has created an environment where they feel encouraged, supported, and excited to learn. Voice lessons have quickly become one of the highlights of their week!
Emily has a gift for teaching. She has helped my girls understand and develop critical vocal skills, including breathing techniques, the use of chest and head voice, and proper projection. Her instruction has brought noticeable improvement in both their confidence and their vocal abilities.
What truly sets Emily apart is her personality. She is always positive, enthusiastic, and full of energy. Her feedback is consistently encouraging, and she knows how to bring out the best in her students. She makes every lesson engaging and fun, turning learning into a joyful journey.
I am incredibly grateful for the growth I’ve seen in my daughters and for the passion Emily instills in them each week. She is an amazing teacher, and we feel lucky to have her in our lives!
Taking lessons with Emily is magical. Not only does she do an amazing job of teaching me the techniques and skills to sing better, but she also makes me laugh a lot. Emily is so talented and has a gift. My favorite part about taking lessons with Emily is her different ways of helping me sing better, from lying on the floor to get better projection to standing against the wall with my back flat. I have learned so much from her and it seems like after every lesson I have improved. She is so fun and creative; I absolutely love her as my teacher and friend.
I love having Emily as a teacher! She is so fun to work with. I love the way she teaches because she lets you choose the songs you sing and helps you reach your own goals. I have improved so much since she started teaching me.
I use a variety of payment options, including stripe, venmo, cash, and check. Please note that if a check is bounced, you will be charged the bounced check fee.
I most certainly do! I strive to give my students performance opportunities in a variety of settings. Some of which include: master classes within my home, performances at local retirement centers, churches, schools, and local festivals.
For students who want to perform more, I help students find performance opportunities within choirs, theaterical groups, community events and singing workshops.
All performance opportunities are encourages, but not required.
I am available for online lessons via zoom.
I am currently a vendor for Harmony, and have applied to be a vendor for the Utah Odessey chapter (formerly Utah Fits All).
Of course! If you are unable to make your scheduled lesson time, please visit my calendar and select a time that works for you. Please note, I do not offer make up lessons if given less than 24 hour notice, except in cases of sickness or extreme emergency.
There are many different opinions on this subject. For the most part, I say if your child loves to sing - let them sing! However, for many children private instruction can be intimidating, scary, or even boring. I encourage you to try a free trail lesson to see if private lessons are right for your child. Many will find more success beginning in a children's choir or theater workshop.

One of my greatest passions lies in exploring the intricacies of the human body and voice. I believe that music is not only a powerful form of expression but also a tool for healing, encouragement, and transformation.
As Hans Christian Andersen so beautifully said, “Where words fail, music speaks.”
